Lodestar Psychiatry is the private practice of Shafi Lodhi, MD, a Stanford dual-fellowship-trained neuropsychiatrist and former Harvard Medical School faculty member. He works with patients whose conditions demand more time, more depth, and more expertise than modern psychiatry usually allows.

The initial evaluation runs a full ninety minutes, with follow-up visits scheduled for depth, not throughput. Nothing about your care is rushed, because nothing about your case is simple.
The work happens before and after the visit.
Every record is read. Imaging is personally reviewed. Collateral history is taken when it matters. The evaluation you receive reflects the full weight of the available evidence, not a summary of a summary.
One physician. Direct access. No layers.
You are cared for by Dr. Lodhi directly. The same physician handles your evaluation, your follow-ups, and the questions that come up in between. No rotating team, no handoffs, no portal standing between you and your doctor.

Comprehensive Neuropsychiatric Evaluation
The cornerstone of the practice. A complete review of your records and prior imaging, an extended in-person or video evaluation, structured neuropsychiatric assessment, and collateral history where indicated.
You leave with a clear diagnostic formulation, a written summary, and a concrete treatment plan, whether or not that plan involves ongoing care at Lodestar.
Ongoing Treatment
Continuing neuropsychiatric care for established patients: medication management informed by brain-behavior expertise, coordination with your neurologist, therapist, and primary care physician, and a long-term relationship with a physician who knows your case completely.
Second Opinion Consultation
A single, rigorous engagement: independent review of the diagnosis, the evidence behind it, and the treatment plan. Delivered as a written consultation to you and, with your permission, your treating clinicians. Often the highest-value hours in a long treatment course.
Shafi Lodhi, MD
Dr. Lodhi trained in the small group of physicians who work at the junction of psychiatry and neurology. He completed fellowships at Stanford University School of Medicine in Neuropsychiatry and in Forensic Psychiatry, and he has served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School. He is board-certified in Psychiatry and in Forensic Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
His clinical focus is the difficult middle ground: patients whose symptoms cross specialty lines, whose imaging and presentation don't agree, or whose treatment has stalled. It is work that rewards patience, depth, and intellectual honesty, and it is the entire reason Lodestar exists.
